OOTD #3: Bold on Bold

Today, I wanted a fun, colorful outfit that was somewhat dressy at the same time.

I tucked a solid black tank top into a tribal-print beige bodycon skirt. Instead of choosing a more structured option, like a jacket, I decided to wear a lightweight, bright coral cardigan. My black strappy sandals went well with the print on the skirt, so I chose them over a simpler shoe. I accessorized with a rose cross necklace, two studded bracelets, and a spiked ring.

I had so much fun with this outfit. Bright colors are a great thing for me every once in a while.

Where I got everything:

Cardigan: Purchased at TJ Maxx, brand is Amber Blue
Top: Charlotte Russe
Skirt: Charlotte Russe
Shoes: Purchased at Shoe Station, brand is Impo
Rusty stud bracelet: Charlotte Russe
Skinny stud bracelet: Forever21
Cross necklace: Forever21
Spike ring: Forver21

SOTD #1: "Songs of the Day"

This is something I want to try because I've never really seen it before, and music is just as important to me as fashion or makeup.

I'm not really sure how I want to do this yet. I might change the format of this later depending on what I find to be the best way to handle it. Suggestions are definitely appreciated.

I spent a lot of my day listening to music, so I thought I'd share some of the songs I've been digging recently and talk about each one a little bit.

1. Radioactive by Imagine Dragons

If you haven't heard this song, you probably live in a cave. Seriously, I hear this song everywhere, and it's been one of my favorite songs for months now. I never get tired of it. The lyrics are deep and meaningful, the instrumentals are great, and it's just overall a good song. I really like Imagine Dragons as a band. I may review their entire album at some point because I do like all their music, not just this one song.

Anyway, if you are completely out of the loop and have never heard of Imagine Dragons or this song, you'd better listen to it. It is great. Actually, it's so great that I'm going to link you.

2. Ungrateful by Escape the Fate

Ohhhkay. In the tragic case that you didn't like the previous song, I'll give you something heavier and less mainstream. But let's be honest, if you don't like Imagine Dragons, you are crazy.

Just kidding. Kind of.

I digress. Escape the Fate is a band I have loved for years. I liked their music better when they had their original singer, who is now in a band called Falling in Reverse, but I really, really like Escape the Fate's new stuff as well. This is just a taste of post-hardcore music, in case you have no idea what that is.

If you like the song, go check out the music video as well. It has a very strong message about domestic violence, and it's a lot deeper than other ETF videos that usually have strippers in them.

Well, I hope you enjoyed! I'm super excited to make more of these posts in the future!

FOTD #1: Sparkly Eyed

I'll be honest, I thought my makeup looked pretty good today.

So of course, I had to take pictures!

The camera didn't pick up how glittery my eyeshadow is, but I promise you, it is sparkly to the point of being messy. If you try to replicate this look using the color "Sidecar" from the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette, you definitely need to prime your eyes and set them so you don't get glitter fallout under your eyes and on every other part of your face.

On a positive note, I feel like the shimmer in my eyeshadow really brightened up my eyes and made them look larger.

Here's what I did to achieve this look:

1. Applied my daily skin makeup (which I may make a separate post on later)
2. Primed my eyes with the Urban Decay Primer Potion
3. Applied the eyeshadow color "Naked" from the Urban Decay Naked 1 palette all over my eyelid up to the crease
4. Applied the color "Sidecar" from the same palette over the first color
5. Applied the color "Smog" from the same palette into the crease and blended it out
6. Highlighted my eyes by applying the color "Virgin" from the same palette in the inner corners of my eyes and just below my eyebrows
7. Moving on to eyeliner, I used my black Nyx Liquid Crystal Eyeliner and lined my eyes, winging it out at the end
8. I curled my eyelashes using my eyelash curler and applied the Maybelline Big Eyes mascara
9. Set with my Urban Decay "Chill" setting spray
10. Applied my Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream in the shade "Stockholm" to my lips

OOTD #2: Ombré and Tribal, A Match Made in Heaven!

This is the OOTD that I actually wore today!

I'm in love with the ombré and tribal trends. I think they're both super cool, so I thought they'd look awesome together in one outfit!

I wore this slightly flowy beige tank top that fades to a chocolate brown at the bottom. Then, I put on my favorite pair of tribal shorts that are an off-white color with black print. Over the tank top, I wore a burgundy cardigan that has a loose feel to it. To keep things casual, I slipped on my pair of black Toms. I considered wearing my tan boots instead, but I feel like they would have overpowered the other elements in the outfit.

I like this outfit because it has a comfortable feel to it, but it still looks put-together.

Where I got everything:

Cardigan: Cotton On
Top: Target
Shorts: Forever21
Shoes: Purchased on the Toms website
Bracelet: Claire's
Necklace: Forever21

Thanks for reading! Hope you liked it!

OOTD #1: Sassy Stripes

So this is actually yesterday's OOTD, but I decided to post it anyway because I took pictures and I liked it.

The weather was kind of dreary, so I opted to wear skinny jeans instead of shorts. I paired a couple of gold bracelets and a statement necklace with this asymmetrical striped top in order to dress it up. The combat boots added an edge.

Now, I'll just list where I purchased everything.

Top: Purchased at TJ Maxx, brand is Pleione
Jeans: PacSun
Skull bracelet: Charlotte Russe
Spike bracelet: Claire's (I think)
Necklace: Charlotte Russe
Boots: Purchased at DSW, brand is Steve Madden
